Despite All Of Our Modern Technology, Weather Reports Less Accurate Than Ever Before

63Okay so today, I checked the weather, mind you it was raining outside and I pretty much knew today was shot for a long-distance bike ride. It was raining moderately, but the weather report said 82% of rain. WRONG! It is raining and last time I checked that would be a 100% chance of rain, not 82%. Why is this? How can this be with NASA, NOAA spending billions on satellites to give us accurate weather and forecasting? Everywhere we look we have instant information – about? – well, about nearly everything. In California we have Amber Alerts for missing or abducted children, we have news alerts anytime a politician puts their foot in their mouth or some worthless terrorist blows himself up somewhere in the world.

Yet, despite all this modern technology – our weather is still less-than-desirable, and I’d submit to you worse than it’s ever been in the last 2-decades. Why do we accept this? Is this really fair to all of us? We have four or five major choices for weather media on Cable and on Internet Search Engines, and there are endless apps for our smart phones, and yet none of these weather sources makes the grade. They give us the weather yet don’t update their forecasts, all the while pretending their forecasts of 3-5 days out are accurate, they are not. Even the super computers miss the Hurricane Landfalls, so why do we rely on these worthless digital authorities? How can we plan our days, activities, or weekends?

Even their current data is wrong – the actual weather – it’s false. Isn’t that proof enough that our modern digital weather reports fail us? These apps and online sources claim to use the latest techniques for the weather – super computers, radar, satellite imagery from the greatest of all agencies and what do we get, more 1/2 truths. At least the TV weatherman of yesterday updated their predictions each time the news was on, by the night before we could plan our day better or know how to dress, whether to take an umbrella, or call off our plans.

The Advent of Modern Technologies

62The advent of modern technologies has undeniably brought so much comfort to the lives of people. It has supported major industries in so many ways that production has become so large scale enough to meet human needs for agricultural and industrial produces. But one drawback caused by technological advancement is overshadowed by these comforts, and that is depletion of the natural resources. Awareness has been raised regarding this condition that have lead to a revolution in the use of natural resources have been made and brought the enhancement of energy-technologies.

What are the two energy sources renewable-energy? Basically energy resource is either renewable or nonrenewable. An energy source is considered renewable resource only if it is replaced by natural processes and is replenished with the passage of time.Renewable energy on the other hand are resources with sustainable yields. Sadly, the major sources of energy that is used to manage technology are nonrenewable, meaning they can be depleted. They include gasoline, coal, natural gas, diesel, and other products derived from fossil fuels which are non-renewable. The depletion of nonrenewable energy source will be inevitable because it is not replenished. Because of this, attentions are gradually shifted to the use of renewable-energy-technologies.

Sustainable energy which is often regarded as renewable resources is the provision of energy that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. They include plant matter, solar power, wind power, wave power, geothermal power and tidal power. It usually also includes technologies that improve energy efficiency otherwise called renewable-energy-technologies.

Digitization of Art Using Modern Technology and Its Merits

61Today, photography, video, and graphics, linked by computers, have expanded the artist’s potential for self-expression by allowing him/her to quickly generate multiple ideas, create solutions and mix varied media.

This new ability to digitally combine drawing, text, sound, and movement engage our senses, thus making the medium produced interactive.

There are several digital software programmes that help artists to produce artistic images with text, sound and animation via the computer. These Software programmes have been developed with more intuitive and standardised menus, commands, and icons. Examples include Draw Programmes, Paint Programmes, Animation Software, 3-D Modelling and Rendering Programmes like AutoCAD, Rhino 3-D, Page Layout Software, Multimedia Presentation Software and the like.
